About Us

MOVIDA was born out of my hobby of collecting unique jewelry pieces. Back in university, I spent a lot of my leisure time roaming boutiques in downtown Toronto, hoping to find pieces that catch my eyes, and my heart.

Soon enough, I found myself having to choose between low-quality accessories or pieces from over-priced luxury brands. The idea "jewelry is a woman's best friend" wasn't quite convincing to me. And that's when the thought of what if I have my own store and sell all the pieces I like struck. Maybe my store will be that place where people can find cool and unique jewelries and maybe designs they didn't even know existed. 

 
With this objective, the word "MOVIDA” came to us almost too spontaneously.

MODA + VIDA = MOVIDA which means 

STYLE + LIFE = MOVEMENT in Spanish, is where it all began.

This "movement" is for us to meet the rare finds that are the truest to ourselves, effortlessly. Every piece is thoughtfully handcrafted with a philosophy of simplicity and wearability and shipped to you with love from Toronto, Canada.

7 years have gone by, things at MOVIDA are still done quite manually, in a good way and for a good reason. I still vet our manufacturers, visit their workshops and order the pieces myself. All orders are quality checked and packed individually with care. It's a beautiful thing that we're doing, and we're glad you're here with us too.
